Dear Yoga Gallery Friends,

We have had a great first summer at the new Yoga Gallery.  September will bring a new schedule with some exciting changes:

Two NEW classes:

Thursday 9:00 am - 10:15 am – Therapeutic Yoga

Taught by Sally Johnson, a yoga teacher and physical therapist, this class is a great place to refine your practice and to explore the poses and learn modifications to help you find the right postures for your body.  If you have some limitations such as tight shoulders, limited flexibility, cranky back, arthritic wrists … this class is may be a great option for you!  This is a non flowing class, but you will practice a full complement of postures.  The goal is to help every student find a way to experience the yoga poses and to use them to help heal and open the body; a goal we all have for our practice regardless of level!

Saturday 7:30 am - 8:45 am - Vinyasa Yoga

Not a new class, but an added time.  We recognize that many of you have a busy life and hope the addition of this early Saturday morning class will help you find time for yoga in your weekend.

Other changes:

oMonday night Ashtanga has been cancelled, and instead we will offer Basic Flow at 7:00 pm.

oThursday 6:15 am Hatha Flow has been cancelled.

oThursday 4:30 pm  Ashtanga will now be Vinyasa.  There will still be a strong Ashtanga base to the class … give it a try!

oThe weekday classes have been adjusted to 75 minutes.  We hope this will help in fitting your practice into your day.  Note that the late afternoon/early evening classes during the week have a slightly later start time to allow more students to make it to class. Some of the evening classes and all of the existing weekend classes remain at 90 minutes.  Be sure and pick up the new schedule at the studio or check online!

OPEN HOUSE on September 20th from 4 pm to 8 pm.  Stop in and help officially celebrate our new home and enjoy food, drinks, music and good company.  There will be drawings for free class cards and Jennifer Rowe will be offering some mini demonstrations on the Pilates equipment and will also be giving away some private sessions in a drawing.  Bring your friends and neighbors!  We look forward to seeing you then!

Don’t forget, on Sunday, September 21st from 2 to 5 we will be holding a workshop led by Sami Aaron and Elizabeth Budd entitled “Breathing to Equanimity;  The Study of Pranayama – The Harmonious Breath.”  Click here for  a more detailed description of the workshop and registration information.

We love practicing and sharing yoga with all of you.
