Wyatt Henderson
Wyatt Henderson is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher (CIYT) and Yoga Alliance RYT- 500. He started taking yoga classes in 2000 as a complement to his longtime training in the martial art of Ki-Aikido. A trombonist in the Kansas City Symphony, Wyatt soon noticed the ability of yoga to restore and rejuvenate his mind and body after many hours of practice, rehearsal, and performance. After several years of study with local teachers including Karim Memi and Rafael Duran, Wyatt decided to pursue the rigorous process of becoming a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher, passing his certification assessment in 2018. In addition to Teacher Training with his mentor Randy Just (BKS Iyengar Yoga Studio of Dallas), he also regularly attends workshops with senior Iyengar Yoga teachers including Karen Allgire, Eddy Marks and Mary Obendorfer, Gulnaaz Dashti, and Abhijata Iyengar. Wyatt’s classes emphasize the Iyengar system’s principles of alignment, precision, sequencing of asana, timing, and use of props. His goal is to help every student, regardless of experience or physical ability, deepen their understanding of yoga and its underlying philosophy.
